About the Role

Basic Function:

The ideal Office Assistant will not only be responsible for clerical support, but also have a willingness to learn, be resourceful and independent, and take on additional responsibilities over time. They should be highly motivated, possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, and a strong work ethic. The candidate should be punctual, have a high degree of proficiency with computers and applications, and have exceptional communication skills.

​Internship duties are likely to turn into part-time/full-time employment. Excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding associates/event management company with a tri-county footprint and grow with the company.

Requirements

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Copy, faxing and filing for several different clients.

  • Maintain office facilities.

  • Enter data into electronic applications.

  • Answering Direct calls appropriately.

  • Implement and improve changes in procedures immediately.

  • Assist Lead Managers, as needed.

  • Assist in other technical marketing tasks, as assigned.

  • Promote and research areas of improvement to enhance the Washington Events brand, reputation, and efficiency.

  • The ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical.

  • A passionate candidate who is willing to take on anything from small internal administrative tasks to high profile requests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to type and use word processing software.

  • Excellent ability to take notes/minutes.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

  • Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication and editing skills and have excellent attention to detail.

  • Must demonstrate effective critical thinking skills and be able to problem-solve.

  • Knowledge of online marketing services, social media, and the Internet required.

  • Must work independently, high energy level, and must be friendly, and having a sense of humor are essential.

  • Must work cooperatively with fellow Washington Events employees, advocate and follow the Washington Events core values daily.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with management, fellow employees, and customers.

  • Ability to read, count, and write English to accurately complete all documentation.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred) At the time of application, you must be enrolled in an educational institution.

  • Digital Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Social Media Platforms: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Clerical: 1 year (Preferred)
